STAC is an easy to administer test that can act as a screening tool, and adjunct test to determine what to test further or as a complement to other aspects of ones professional scope. With a new alternate version coming it will be easy to document progress. I like many aspect of it including the brief but adequate training portion such that ipad proficiency/use is not assumed. This also gives those with language issues some help in acclimating (though it would not be appropriate for some lower level students). As others have mentioned the automatically generated reports are helpful and therapist friendly. When I recently had the inevitable technical glitch---which has only happened in one of 4 times I have administered it and was likely my fault rather than a product problem---I found the staff helpful to make the most of not having had that report generated. This tells me they stand behind the product and are actively working to improve it. STAC is a nice use of technology in our modern therapy world.
